Employment and Entrepreneurship Skills Training

This component is very challenging. It works from the premise, that as times change, technology and employment skills grow, and the world is every one's backyard. Skills specialist trainers work one-on-one with each participant 3 times per week for a 12-month period. They diagnose the youths' strengths and weaknesses. They then devise an intensive program to meet and challenge their particular needs to expand their overall skills. This component provides a structure for involvement at all levels. We practice career-related skills, interviews, resume writing, and resume positing on websites to seek internships for work experience and employment opportunities. Our board of directors, skills specialists trainers and our volunteer staff provide strong leadership. It consists of training in several areas. The areas are: Information Technology, Desktop Publishing, microsoft office, Cisco systems, Nortel, 3M Network Products, Trouble-shooting, Anti-virus products Norton, E-mail, Web filtering products, Firewall , Check points/nokia, Setting public and private network segments, Web-hosting. We provide working knowledge of operating systems such as Windows , Mac and the configuration of platforms intrusion detection, monitoring systems and cyber security workshops that will touch four aspects: Data encryption, password security, stenography and digital forensics.

Entrepreneurship Skills Training

The program designed to help entrepreneurs hone the skills needed to create, manage and grow a successful business. The program initiative provides for the development of a one-stop economic empowerment center to provide business training counseling, how and where to obtain financial support, first-hand experience in the venture capital process, and procurement opportunities for women and minorities. We provide comprehensive real world training for aspiring entrepreneurs, including a wave of entrepreneurs' activity and new set of major innovations designed to develop the next generation of successful entrepreneurs.

The program is working to help participants further understand the phenomenon of entrepreneurship, paving the way to success for our program participants, and to advance our entrepreneurship education and training efforts. To promote entrepreneur-friendly policies, and to better facilitate the commercialization of new technologies by entrepreneurs and others, which have great promise for improving the economic conditions of our participants, in the inner city neighborhoods of Buffalo, New York and the welfare of our community. From practical hands-on lessons in business development to a vast array of reliable online resources, the program prepares participants to become successful entrepreneurs. We focus on leveraging the best practices in entrepreneurial leadership and teaching. The goal is to foster a environment that allows men and women to pursue their dream of organizing and operating a business venture, creating good jobs and growing the economy and the inner city community.
